Customer Service Specialist

REPORTS TO:  Member Services Manager
 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Retail Sales Supervisor
 
BASIC FUNCTION:  The Customer Service Specialist performs the daily operations and performs the duties of receptionist/cashier for the office.
 
EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of one year customer service and retail sales experience; or comparable work experience preferred. 
 
KNOWLEDGE:  Knowledge of general office practices, including basic mathematical skills and retail merchandising, basic office procedures and equipment operation, basic knowledge performing cash transactions and preparation of bank deposit.
 
SKILLS:  Excellent customer service and telephone skills, excellent communication skills, strong organizational, multi-tasking and PC skills, including Microsoft Office and PrintMaster.   
 

Job Tasks RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Essential duties are marked with asterisk.)
 
*1.  Perform the duties of receptionist for the office; greet and direct visitors, answer and dispatch incoming telephone calls to requested departments, que visitors into computer system and direct visitors to waiting areas, verify AAA membership.
 
*2.  Perform the duties of cashier for the office; responsible for processing the sale of retail merchandise, discount attraction tickets, Travel Money products, IDP’s, IAP’s, passport photo’s, balancing of cash drawer and credit card machine and prepare deposit on a daily basis, security and maintenance of financial media.
 
*3.  Process the distribution of incoming and outgoing mail; USPS, DHL, UPS, FedEX, assist common carrier delivery personnel with all shipments.
 
*4.  Sort and process all membership mail payments.
 
*5.  Distribute AAA Tourbooks, Triptiks and maps to AAA members.
 
*6.  Update Financial Center information.
 
*7.  Assist with ordering retail merchandise, pricing, maintenance and placement of retail merchandise, back stock maintenance in the retail storage area and in the stockroom, assist in receiving of retail merchandise.
 
*8.  Ensure compliance with Anti Money Laundering and Payment Card Industry Standards.
 
*9.  Cross-sell all AAA products and services (AAA credit card, insurance, travel, etc.).
 
*10. Attend all meeting/training classes regarding AAA products.
 
*11. Retrieve voicemail messages throughout the day and return telephone calls before the close of business daily.
 
*12. Maintain customer request log and member sign-ups for promotional activities.
 
*13. Actively listen and react to members inquiries and requests.
 
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
  Skills And Experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work – Requires prolonged standing or sitting.  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

LIFE INSURANCE SPECIALIST

Description:
AAA Northampton County is seeking career-minded individuals for our Life Specialist career opportunity.  The Life Specialist will offer the full family of AAA Life Insurance products to our members in our Pennsylvania office.  You will work in a fast paced dynamic environment that requires focused attention to our members’ needs; develop a referral network, contact members requesting information, and provide policy service and follow-up on all leads.  Prior insurance industry experience and Pennsylvania Life License required.  No overhead cost, internal referral program, continued license sponsorship, and incentives provided.  We also offer a base salary in addition to commissions. 
 

Job Tasks Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Handling inbound/outbound calls and answering questions from members interested in Medicare supplement insurance, umbrella coverage, life insurance and financial products.
  • Quoting and preparing life insurance, Medicare supplements, and umbrella coverage.
  • Preparing changes to life insurance policies including; change of beneficiary, change of ownership and upgrade in amount of type of policy.
  • Assisting clients in processing claims.
  • Arranging appointments with members and prospective members regarding life insurance and financial products.
  • Participating in community and business activities and events to prospect for potential membership and insurance sales opportunities.
  • Utilizing a variety of methods in performing research leading to the establishment of high potential prospects for AAA products.  These methods include direct mail, referral systems, associate cross-selling, partnership sharing, prospect purchases, etc.
  • Contacting and qualifying prospective members and explaining features and benefits of life insurance policies offered, suggesting amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect’s circumstances.
  • Calculating and quoting premium rates for specific policies.
  • Anticipating future needs and calling on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts.
  • Developing long-term relationships.
  • Establishing programs designed to retain existing member clients, trigger advance follow-up periods and regaining business that has lapsed.
  • Complete Continuing Education requirements for licenses.
Skills And Experience Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of current life insurance and/or Medicare supplement sales experience.
  • BA/BS degree a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competitive sales drive and a commitment to maintaining superior member relationships.
  • Proficiency utilizing computer hardware and software systems.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Drivers license.
  • Good driving record and a current Pennsylvania Life/Health license required; Pennsylvania Property Casualty license preferred.

Worldwide Travel Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION:  The Travel Specialist performs the daily operations of the business in the World Wide Travel department.
 
KNOWLEDGE:  Knowledge of general office practices, including basic mathematical skills, current travel industry standards, research and travel plan development, personal travel destination knowledge, basic office procedures and equipment operation.
 
SKILLS:  Excellent customer service and telephone skills, excellent communication and listening skills, excellent sales skills, strong organizational, multi-tasking and PC skills including Microsoft Office, Apollo or other GDS system, strong world geography skills, excellent decision making skills and ability to troubleshoot.
 

Job Tasks RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Essential duties are marked with asterisk.)
 
*1.   Perform duties associated with travel sales; including but not limited to client interaction, internet travel booking requests, destination research, pricing, closing the sale, booking using AAA preferred suppliers when possible.
 
*2.   Perform duties associated with the booking of car rentals and hotel accommodations using AAA Preferred Suppliers and AAA rated hotels when possible.
 
*3.   Answer incoming telephone calls to department, retrieve customer messages from department voicemail throughout the day, reply to customer voicemail and messages throughout the day.
 
*4.   Promote AAA travel to the community by making presentations to church and senior citizen groups, local Chamber groups, community organizations and local schools and colleges.
 
*5.   Assist in escorting group departures as needed.
 
*6.   Assist with Consumer Talk Nights as needed.
 
*7.   Complete and pass all tests and specialized training courses required by AAA Travel to ensure the most up-to-date knowledge and skills with regards to travel destinations and technology.
 
*8.   Attend all meetings/training classes associated with AAA products and services.
 
*9.   Cross-sell all AAA products and services (AAA credit card, insurance, SYC&S, and retail).

10.  Perform other duties as assigned. Skills And Experience EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of one year travel sales experience; or comparable work experience preferred.  Associate’s Degree preferred.
